Gorgeous Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 Fan Poster Teases Thor Team-Up

Image
The Guardians will return… Eventually. Writer/director James Gunn is busy on post-production on DC’s  The Suicide Squad,  but he did just reveal this week that the very beginnings of work on  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3   for Marvel has kicked off. This is good news for those fans who are missing the cosmic heroes, but it’s not like we’re going to be getting any kind of hint at the movie anytime soon as filming is still way off. In the absence of that, then, this awesome fan poster hits the spot instead. Digital artist Skygrafx shared this epic artwork on his Instagram account. The poster does a terrific job of aping the colorful and ensemble style of the real  Guardians  posters we’ve got in the past. The artist also makes a few guesses at how the film will turn out. Following their fan favorite team-up in the  Avengers  movies, there’s a widespread expectation that Chris Hemsworth’s Thor will show up in  Vol. 3  for an Asgardians...

Watch: The Walking Dead Season 10C Table Read Clip Teases Upcoming Episode

Image
There are just 30 episodes left of The Walking Dead . The long-running show recently wrapped up its tenth season , setting in motion the events of the show’s conclusion with the appearance of high tech soldiers from the Commonwealth . But despite being officially over, there’s still a bit more to come before the eleventh and final season. To fill the lengthy gap between now and then we’re getting a six-episode ‘season 10.5’ in Spring 2021. That’s in production at the moment and to whet our appetites AMC has been releasing table reads from the episodes. Last month we got a clip from season 10.5 episode ‘Home Sweet Home’ , showing the reunion of Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), just after the Whisperer War had concluded. Now they’ve followed that up with another ‘clip’ from an episode titled ‘Splinter’. This features Ezekiel (Khary Payton), Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura), and new character Princess (Paola Lázaro) captured and imprisoned inside ...

Dog Soldiers Director Says There’s More Chance Of Sequel Now Than Ever

Image
Fifteen years ago, Neil Marshall was pegged as horror’s next big thing after his first two movies were received hugely enthusiastically by critics and audiences alike, coming in for high praise after taking familiar tropes and putting a unique and entertaining spin on the formula. While the filmmaker has carved out a solid career for himself, the argument could be made that he’s never truly lived up to that early potential. The Descent may have been his calling card after raking in $57 million at the box office on a budget of less than $5 million, but his debut feature Dog Soldiers is pure B-level trash and all the better for it. The action/horror hybrid with no shortage of jet black comedy sees a group of soldiers sent on a routine training mission to a remote part of Scotland, who find themselves fighting for survival against a pack of werewolves. Dog Soldiers doesn’t even try and hide the fact that the budget is minuscule and the entire premise is ridiculous, and the combinati...

Stephen King Admits That Under The Dome Went Entirely Off The Rails

Image
As one of the most heavily adapted authors on the planet, it isn’t surprising that the quality of the many movies and TV shows based on the works of Stephen King have been wildly inconsistent over the decades. For every Carrie , The Shawshank Redemption , Stand by Me or The Shining there’s a Dreamcatcher , The Dark Tower or Bag of Bones . For the most part, King’s novels and short stories have fared much better on the small screen, at least when there hasn’t already been a great movie made out of the source material. A lot of people might not even be aware that The Shining and Carrie were the subjects of TV shows, which is probably for the best. However, the likes of 11.22.63 , Mr. Mercedes and The Outsider have all been solid at the very least. One of the more forgotten efforts was Under the Dome , the big budget adaptation of King’s 2009 novel created by comic book writer Brian K. Vaughn and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The show ran for three seasons and received ...

The Mandalorian Concept Art Reveals Din Djarin’s Original Design

Image
The Mandalorian is back and fans are already going nuts for the second season premiere that just dropped on Disney+. It’s a barnstorming return and a rare highlight in 2020’s dreary entertainment landscape. The wild success and popularity is good stuff for a show that at first seemed like a bit of an outside bet. After all, The Mandalorian  initially felt as if it might be the cast-off from the cancelled  Boba Fett solo movie and there were some who feared that having three (including Jango Fett) very similar-looking characters in Star Wars wasn’t a great idea. The show overcame that hurdle pretty quickly, however, defining the armor as the standard Mandalorian aesthetic and getting deep into its functionality and symbolism. Now, newly released concept art hints that Lucasfilm were conscious of the similarities to the Fetts and went for a different look for Din Djarin. As you can see, the image below, posted on Instagram by artist Brian Matyas, shows a very stripped-down...

Gillian Anderson Explains How She Prepared To Play Margaret Thatcher In The Crown

Image
Gillian Anderson is swapping one hit Netflix show for another this fall, as the  Sex Education  star is joining the cast of  The Crown  for its fourth season in the role of controversial British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The latest trailer for the royal drama’s new run gave us our first proper flavor of Anderson’s performance as the politician – who was previously played to much acclaim by Meryl Streep in  The Iron Lady  – and now the actress has opened up about how she got into character. While speaking to Variety, Anderson explained how she tries to put away “all preconceptions and opinions” when she portrays real individuals and focuses on their arc in the story, so that she can fully get into their head. “One of the things that I have found in playing historical characters is to put aside all preconceptions and opinions, particularly in regards to Margaret Thatcher. Because in making choices within scenes or within the arc of the series, one...
