Tom Holland Teased Doctor Strange In Spider-Man 3 Last Year

Image
This week delivered some shocking but hugely exciting news for  Spider-Man 3 .  Benedict Cumberbatch has reportedly signed on to return as Doctor Strange in the threequel. The good doctor’s involvement might tell us many things, including that it potentially confirms the movie having a multiverse angle, but it’s also exciting just because it means we get more of the fun dynamic between Peter Parker and Stephen Strange. It’s interesting to note, then, that star Tom Holland teased this pairing way back in summer 2019. While promoting  Spider-Man: Far From Home,  Holland told CinemaBlend that he wanted to work with his fellow British actor again as he enjoyed the science vs. magic contrast between the two characters. “I’m really wanting to do a team-up with Doctor Strange, because we’re both New Yorkers and I just really like the idea of a science guy being teamed up with a guy who does magic,” Holland said. “Because it totally contradicts everything he knows. And ...

Scientists Say Murder Hornets Are Now Entering The Slaughter Phase

Image
2020 has been a real barrel of laughs, huh? Well, now you can add murder hornets to the list of things to worry about. Also known as Giant Asian Hornets, the killer bugs have been spotted in Washington State and this means trouble is on the way. According to AP, scared residents of the town of Blaine, Whatcom County were calling in sightings of the monster insects and state scientists have now confirmed their presence. Washington State Department of Agriculture entomologist Sven-Erik Spichiger spoke to journalists, explaining that: “We believe we are dealing with a nest. We hope to locate the nest in a couple of weeks and eradicate it.” Spichiger went on to warn that all data says that the hornets are about to enter what he describes as their “slaughter phase” and that it’s vital that they discover and destroy the hive before that. Sadly, though, so far, they’ve made little progress. One scientist did manage to corner a live hornet and bravely attempted to glue a radio tag to it...

Spider-Man 3 Gearing Up To Enter Production This Fall

Image
Tom Holland is apparently suiting up as the web-slinger again this very fall. Yesterday, the internet was stunned to learn the news that Jamie Foxx is in talks to return as Electro in  Spider-Man 3 ,  following on from his turn as the supervillain in  The Amazing Spider-Man 2 – which is part of a totally different continuity. There’s another huge bit of news that came with this story that’s been mostly overlooked, though. As part of their exclusive on the Foxx scoop, The Hollywood Reporter noted that the threequel – set to be directed once again by Jon Watts – is due to go before cameras in Atlanta sometime this fall. Previously, there had been talk that filming on Spider-Man 3  was being pushed back into early 2021 to accommodate Holland’s commitments to his other upcoming project, Sony’s Uncharted   movie . Apparently, though, that’s not the case. Of course, Spidey 3  is one of the countless big budget pics that’s been pushed back on the schedule bec...

Jamie Foxx Says He Won’t Be Blue In Spider-Man 3, But He’s Reportedly Playing Same Electro

Image
We always knew that WandaVision was going to introduce the concept of the multiverse into the MCU and that whatever happens in the show is going to tie directly into Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . But it’s unlikely that anyone could have predicted that Spider-Man of all people would end up involved in these shenanigans. Indeed, the news that Jamie Foxx is reprising his role of Electro for Spider-Man 3 came as a huge surprise and indicates that the implications of the multiverse are going to be greater than we first thought. Of course, there’s been a lot of speculation that the Project Power actor is actually portraying an entirely new version of the character, one rebooted for the MCU. And that’s something he seemingly fuelled earlier today with the below Instagram post, where he said he won’t be blue in the film. Jamie Foxx Teases New Look For Spider-Man 3, But He's Reportedly Playing Same Version 1 of 2     Click to skip MORE FRO...

Star Wars Fan Take To Twitter To Debate The Empire Strikes Back’s Best Scene

Image
While some can quickly dissolve into toxic, unproductive arguments, we have to admit — we like it when a fanbase comes together for lighthearted, interesting discussions. Take for instance, the  Star Wars  franchise. Since the release of  The Rise of Skywalker,  you don’t have to look far to find ardent fans arguing over the sequel trilogy, but every so often, you’ll come across a lighthearted conversation which hasn’t been plagued with vitriol. We can only assume that was what the folks behind the official  Star Wars  Twitter account were aiming for when they took to the platform to talk about one of the franchise’s most beloved films. For those who aren’t aware, The Empire Strikes Back   celebrated its 40th anniversary earlier this week, and to commemorate the occasion, two StarWars.com writers had a frank discussion about the film’s best scene. This conversation was shared on Twitter, prompting fans to chime in with their own opinions on the matter...

Halloween Kills Director Reveals Who Karen Strode’s Father Is

Image
With both the  4-6  timeline – which featured daughter Jamie – and the  H20  movies – which included son John – removed from continuity, 2018’s Halloween   gave Laurie Strode a new child in the form of Karen Nelson nee Strode, as played by Judy Greer. The movie focused on all three generations of Strode women – Laurie, Karen and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) – as they faced off against Michael Myers. And they’ll do it again in upcoming sequel Halloween Kills .  One big question was left unanswered in the last film, though, when it comes to Karen: Who’s her dad? If you were thinking this would be cleared up in Kills, think again, as we actually just got the answer. Blumhouse recently hosted a watch party for the 2019 movie, with director David Gordon Green answering questions via the studio’s Twitter account. In response to one fan, Green revealed that not even Laurie knows the identity of Karen’s father. “Some dude Laurie met at a bar,” he said. ...
